" it was a delight to experience your well-balanced musicianship. From the drum tempo onwards, nothing jarred.Celluloid Heroes was my highlight, I loved its emotional intensity. Knowing only fleetingly, The Kinks' back catalogue, I was able to enjoy The Kinx as a stand alone act. That its members also reminded me of my youth was an added bonus!" - Pat Rudkins - the halstead gazette
....... "Great show at the Diamond on Saturday. I'd been enthusing about you to my mate after the last time I saw you, and he was amazed how fantastic you sound. It was great to say "I told you so". See you in January (That'll be a good night)."

The Kinx. The band not only sounded like the Kinks, they actually looked like the guys as well, with all authentic 60’s gear and clothes (including very tight, stripy trousers). Ida Ottesen for newbeats4u.com
As the singer said, the only difference between them and the real Kinks was that this band actually turned up.
Here, as with The Beatelles, the dedication to the music shines through and we were treated to such classics as All Day And All Of The Night, Waterloo Sunset, Sunny Afternoon and Dedicated Follower Of Fashion, and many more great songs from the Kinks career. Amazing to think that this band has only been together for two years, the performance was so believable and very enjoyable, you just couldn’t help smiling as the band went into a long jam over the track Lola. The band stayed in character for most of the set, providing a true 60’s feel to the night.

They really know how to party in this club. Everyone getting dressed up in some outrageous 60's gear and really going for it. The club was packed and hot just how the Kinks would have experienced. The DJ and MC Pete Lamb was well on form. The crowd were fantastic!

Wow! what a great club; the atmosphere, the history, the association with so many great bands as well as the Beatles of course. It's a fantastic feeling to be performing on that famous stage at such important venue world-wide. Very few people haven't heard of the Liverpool CAVERN Club .
Where The Beatles music reigns supreme, the Kinks songs were soaked up enthusiastically by an audience in good voice. Perhaps they'd been practicing to the old Kinks LP's. I could have handed the microphone around the club. Certainly at least 4 of the audience could have joined in every song. The Kinks tribute band KINDA KINKS turned up and gave us the "thumbs up" which we appreciate.
Some photos will be posted here shortly and also a video link.
Yet again we were approached by Kinks fans who had heard about the gig on Dave Emlen's Kinks web-site. A visit to this site is well worth it.
Thanks Zoe for sending these photos in.You can be our official photographer!!!!!!
What a 30th birthday party!. Jenna must have some pretty good friends who can lay on a party with 3 separate acts on stage and a buffet to feed the 5000!!!!!
Starting the night was Guitar vocalist/virtuoso Ian Watts wth a selection of classic songs from Beatles to Coldplay and getting some serious appreciation from the audience. Some very clever guitar work and spot on vocals.
Next up power rock trio THE VOW who had recently reformed. They've had considerable success in recent years and haven't lost their drive and passion. Plenty of head rockin there.
Last up THE KINX performing the estabished "kinks fan" favourites to a young crowd who certainly were not around in the 1960's. The trusty old Kinks songs even worked their magic with new and younger audiences. The enthusiast club owner was quick to rebook THE KINX for a Kinks night. Will keep you posted!!!!
Hopefully some photos will arrive. There were lots of flashes going off.
A jam packed audience of Kinks music fans soaked up 27 songs by the legendary Ray Davis and brother Dave. It was a tight squeeze for a good natured crowd who seemed to be mouthing all the words. Obviously those dusty L.P.s have been out of the cupboard recently. Many thanks to all those Kinks fans who I understand had travelled a considerable distance to see us and all those regulars who keep giving us their support. This is very encouraging and flattering and we look forward to playing this venue again. There were some very positive and interesting conversations with the audience after the gig.
..the following photos sent in by ZOE SANSOM (Kinx super fan) of our second set. Hope she's got a note for being late!!!!!
Nottingham Kinks fans turned out in force on Friday night to hear the ultimate KINKS tribute band The KINX perform 90 minutes of Ray and Dave's finest and memorable songs.
The Chequers Inn rocked as a capacity audience who turned up early revelled in 60's nostalgia. Everyone was up for it and all the songs on the set list were received with great enthusiasm.
From the band: Thanks for a great night!.......and send in the photos! It was great to meet people who had visited Dave Emlens Kinks web site as well as our own.
